At Sparkling Pointe, we believe that our actions have a direct and indirect impact on the environment in which we live, grow, and produce our wines. Sustainable practices are part of everyday operations with a focus on conservation of resources and the reduction of greenhouse gases.

Energy

State of the Art Net-Zero Wine Storage Warehouse with geothermal wells and solar photovoltaic array roofing – designated as the 1st Greenlogic certified Zero Energy Warehouse in New York State (Net Zero means the amount of energy used is equal to the amount of energy produced on site)

The Tasting House is designed with large dormer windows which allow for the use of natural light during the majority of operating hours

LED bulb lighting

Water

Drip Irrigation System Reduces the amount of water used by localizing the water supply to the root of the plant

Decreases soil erosion and encourages soil nutrition

Recycling

Sparkling Pointe recycles all glass wine bottles, cardboard shipping boxes, and paper

Partnered with ReCORK.org to recycle used corks

Reusable bags for wine purchases

Certifications

As of 2014, Sparkling Pointe is certified Sustainable by the Long Island Sustainable Winegrowers Organization
