Gilles Martin is an accomplished veteran of the wine industry with 20 years experience in winemaking over the world.  Gilles, a native of France, holds a Master’s Degree in Enology from University I de Montpellier.  After completing his education and extensive internships and working as a winemaker in France, he arrived in America at a Virginia winery where he began to learn of the unique challenges facing a winemaker on the east coast.  A few years later, Gilles landed the post of assistant winemaker at the prestigious Roederer Estate in California where his talent for sparkling wine making flourished for six years.  During this time, the sparking wines of the Estate rightfully earned the reputation as “the best sparkling wines ever made outside the Champagne area.”  Today Gilles talent for sparkling wine continues to shine as head winemaker for Sparkling Pointe on the North Fork of Long Island.
